John Markovs

John Markovs is a County Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland, having previously served as Deputy County Attorney from 2012 to 2022. They provide legal advice to elected officials, oversee significant litigation and negotiations, and manage an annual budget of $14 million. John has extensive experience in complex commercial and real estate litigation and previously led the litigation practice at McMillan Metro, P.C. They have also served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Maryland from 2008 to 2022 and are currently a member of the Board of Directors for DC Water. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the State University of New York at Albany and is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree from American University - Washington College of Law.
