John Wanders

John Wanders has extensive experience in journalism, having worked in various capacities across several notable organizations. Beginning as a reporter at Veronica from August 1983 to December 1984, Wanders transitioned to numerous roles at de Volkskrant, including correspondent for Rotterdam/Den Haag, chief of the parliamentary editorial team, and editor of opinion and science sections, ultimately serving as eindredacteur from November 2011 to January 2014. Earlier, from August 1997 to November 2005, Wanders served as a correspondent in the United States based in Washington, D.C., before becoming Chef economieredactie at GPD. Wanders holds a Master of Arts in Amerikanistiek from the University of Amsterdam and a degree in social sciences from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, alongside an educational background from Winschoter Scholengemeenschap and the School voor de Journalistiek Utrecht.
