Robert Alexander has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Robert started their career as a computer programmer in 1981, gaining experience in the printing and graphic arts trades. In 1993, they joined Nortel and worked on various projects, including the creation of the Nippon Contract Ledger and a comprehensive reporting package. Robert also worked on the Sales Tax Automation and Re-engineering System (STARS). In 1998, they worked as a Senior Programmer-Analyst for McGilly Information, where they developed GUI and database programming skills.

In 1999, Robert became the Managing Partner and C.T.O. at Lucidworks Inc., where they developed the gift-giving and gift-management site "ThinkingOfHer" using Perl, Flash, HTML, and MySQL. Robert later joined Brauch Database Systems as a Senior Developer/DBA, focusing on a vertical-market application for the magazine publishing industry.

In 2000, Robert worked as a Lead Developer and Unix Admin at Nortel, contributing to the Desktop Computer Leasing system. Robert then joined Euram Technologies as the V.P. of New Product Development, overseeing project planning and software development needs for an Internet banking system. From 2001 to 2003, they served as the President, UNIX Systems Administrator, Developer, and DBA at Workmate Software and Hosting, maintaining Sun Solaris servers and developing a search engine using Perl and MySQL.

From 2002 to 2009, Robert worked at Harris Corporation as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development of the Enterprise Agency Suite, an advertising agency management and planning package. Lastly, since 2010, they have been working as a Senior Software Developer at Dealerbuilt - Lightyear Dealer Technologies, utilizing their expertise in software development.

Robert Alexander's education history includes attending Seneca College in 1996, University of Guelph from 1975 to 1976 with a focus on Astronomy, and Blyth Software in 1986 where they became an Omnis Certified Developer.
