Dean & Dahl is a NYC award-winning design studio shaping the next chapter of American design. Founded by husband-and-wife team Gabriel and Brooke Anderson, the studio sits at the intersection of collectible art and functional design, creating sculptural furniture and objects that feel at once timeless, tactile, and culturally resonant.

The studio is known for its proprietary pigmented plaster technique — a material language developed exclusively in-house and crafted by American artisans in Lincoln, Nebraska. Built through 5–7 hand-applied layers, each piece carries chromatic depth, subtle trace, and through-layer longevity, ensuring the work grows richer with touch, care, and patina over time. Every design is made in limited series, numbered, documented, and conceived as a future heirloom.

Co-founder Gabriel Anderson, Professor of Design at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (an R1 research institution), brings academic rigor, research-driven methodology, and a deep understanding of material culture, hospitality design, and his original theory of relational aura — the idea that objects gain value through their biography, care, and emotional presence.
Co-founder Brooke Anderson brings expertise in human behavior and atmosphere, shaping interiors and objects that influence emotion, ritual, and lived experience.

Dean & Dahl’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, Interior Design Magazine, and Dezeen, with installations at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, The Venetian Las Vegas, and Hôtel Fouquet’s NYC. In 2024, the studio received “Insider’s Pick” at Collectible Design Fair NYC for the JoJo Chaise Lounge.

Today, Dean & Dahl is redefining what American studio-made furniture can be:
collectible, handmade, scalable, and culturally meaningful.
