Jess Wertheim has worked in a variety of roles in the education sector since 2008. In 2008, they began as a Features Writer at The Stanford Daily Newspaper. In 2010, they worked as an Algebra and Geometry Teacher and Campus Recruiter for Breakthrough Collaborative. In 2011, they were an English Teacher at EOI. In 2012, they worked as a Teaching Fellow at McKinley Institute of Technology for Citizen Schools. In 2013, they were a Regional Data Specialist for Citizen Schools. In 2014, they were a Math and Science Teacher for Redwood City School District. In 2015, they were a Research Assistant at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Pre-K for All Early Childhood Education Community Specialist for the NYC Department of Education. In 2019, they became an Adjunct Professor at New York University and a Chief Learning Officer at Dearest, Inc.
