Sharon Parkes has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Sharon started their career as a Customer Service Advisor at the Department for Work and Pensions in 2009. Sharon then worked as a Customer Service Agent at Barclaycard from 2011 to 2013, where they dealt with complex customer situations and conducted detailed reviews of difficult complaints. Sharon also served as a Customer Relations Executive at Barclaycard from 2013 to 2015, where they used analytical skills to determine the cause of complex issues and identify areas for improvement. Sharon later became a Customer Relations Team Leader at Barclaycard from 2015 to 2018, providing leadership and direction to a team of complaint handlers.

In 2018, Sharon joined Barclays Partner Finance as a Product Owner, where they created User Story Maps and translated them into User Stories for the Agile IT Scrum Team. Sharon led and drove the delivery of agile products into the business.

Currently, Sharon works at Deazy, starting as a Digital Product Manager in 2020. Sharon was promoted to Senior Digital Product Manager in 2022 and then further promoted to Product Lead in 2023. Deazy is a tech build platform that provides cost-effective and scalable development services to clients. Sharon accesses an ecosystem of vetted nearshore teams through the platform and helps bridge the gap with the UK delivery team. Sharon also benefits from the negotiated volume model to lower the risk of outsourcing and make development easy.

Sharon Parkes completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales, starting in 2005 and finishing in 2009. Prior to that, they attended Hillcrest Girls School in Birmingham from 1998 to 2003, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period.

In addition to their education, Sharon Parkes has obtained certifications in the field of agile and scrum. In July 2019, they became an ICAgile Certified Professional from ICAgile, and in April 2019, they obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from Scrum Alliance.
