Deb8.TV is a live video debate platform for classrooms, debate clubs, and public discourse. Post a challenge. Someone accepts. You meet in a timed, structured video debate with clear rounds, and the recording is saved.

Most of the internet sorts people into rooms where everyone already agrees. Deb8.TV is built as the opposite — an anti-echo chamber, where disagreement becomes an actual argument between two people who have to listen to each other.

FOR EDUCATORS
Papers are written alone. Debates force direct engagement with another person's reasoning, which makes them immediate, interactive, and hard to outsource to AI. Deb8.TV has been used in Dartmouth College courses on Russian literature, film, and emotion in literature, with support from Dartmouth Dialogues — more than 100 student debates to date. Faculty at Columbia University, Monash University, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem are adopting it next.

FOR DEBATE CLUBS AND TEAMS
Run practice rounds, host tournaments, build an archive. Debaters can also spar against an AI opponent between matches.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
LMS integration, AI-assisted judging, roundtable formats, and instant topic assignment.
