Tim Riker has extensive experience in software engineering and technology leadership, currently serving as a Guru and Open Source Community Liaison at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since February 2011. Riker's role involves bridging community projects with internal engineering teams. In addition, Riker has been a Developer for Debian since 2001, maintaining the BZFlag package, and serves as CTO for Saygus, Inc., contributing to embedded Linux for new Android smartphones. Riker has led the open-source BZFlag project since April 1999 and has held various technical roles at other organizations, including Linux Technologist at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Texas Instruments, and Lineo Solutions, Inc., where significant contributions involved porting Linux to new architectures and developing software solutions across multiple platforms. Riker's early career includes positions as Senior Software Engineer and Vice President of Technology, demonstrating a strong foundation in software development and system architecture. Education was pursued at Brigham Young University from September 1987 to 1990.
