Travis Baker has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Travis began their professional journey in 1995 as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, where they served until 1999. Following their military service, Travis worked as an Application Developer at Corphealth, Inc for approximately 10 months. In 2000, they transitioned to becoming a Consultant at Midwest Consulting Group for a few months before moving on to Amaximis Lending as a Programmer/DBA/Project Manager. Travis worked at Amaximis Lending until 2002. In 2003, Travis joined HealthCare Computer Corp as an IT Director/Senior Programmer/Project Manager, where they remained for three years before joining Junction Solutions in 2006. At Junction Solutions, they held the position of Product Manager/Senior BI Developer until 2008. Travis then joined Decentrix Inc. in 2008 and has since served as the Director of Support Engineering.

Travis Baker's education history begins in 1993 when they enrolled at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. Travis completed their undergraduate studies in 1995. Afterward, from 1996 to 1998, Travis attended Boston University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems.

In 2015, Travis continued their education by attending HealthONE Emergency Medical Services, where they obtained their EMT-B certification. Furthermore, Travis has obtained various certifications outside of their formal education. In 2008, they became a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in SQL Server 2005 - Implementation and Maintenance. In 2011, they obtained another Microsoft certification, this time as a Technology Specialist in Bing Maps Platform. In 2014, they achieved the Microsoft Certified Professional certification in Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Additionally, in the same year, Travis acquired certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician and as a Wilderness EMT from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and NOLS, respectively. Travis also obtained a Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) in 2014.
