Alan Itakura

Alan Itakura serves as a Project Leader and Life Science Expert at DeciBio since March 2021. Prior experience includes a Doctoral Student role at Stanford University, where Alan conducted research on novel genes in Chlamydomonas and RNA-binding proteins in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Additional experience includes a Business Development Internship at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where Alan contributed to a molecular diagnostics initiative in sub-Saharan Africa, and as a Founding Team Member for a medical training program in Nepal through Design for Extreme Affordability. Earlier research internships at the Sainsbury Laboratory focused on genetic screening in Arabidopsis thaliana and plant immunity mechanisms. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biology from Stanford University, a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master's degree from KAUST, and a Bachelor's degree from Imperial College London.
