Principal Software Engineer at Decision Sciences

Mike Schwarzlose began their work experience as a student programmer at NCSA in 1997. In this role, they worked on Windows shell extensions and assisted in the design and maintenance of DCOM messaging interfaces. Mike then joined Answers, Inc. in 1999 as a Software Engineer, where they worked on a high-performance C++ application server for a CRM help desk application. Mike also enhanced the MFC/Net Meeting based client and brought embedded IE to create a Dynamic HTML-based UI design. In 2001, Mike joined Newgistics as a Senior Software Engineer, where they helped design and maintain services for reverse logistics. Mike created a COM+, C++ based service that utilized Fed Ex APIs and parsed large CSV files for package scans. In 2003, Mike joined BAE Systems as a Principal Software Engineer, where they played a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a C++ development kit for a large multi-platform Qt desktop application. Mike worked directly with integrators and the development kit offered a C++ facade to a multi-threaded asynchronous reactor-style implementation. Currently, Mike is working as a Principal Software Engineer at Decision Sciences, starting in 2021.

Mike Schwarzlose attended Parkland College from 1994 to 1997. It is unclear whether they obtained a degree or pursued any specific field of study during this period. Mike then went on to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
