Garry Simmons, CAPM, has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Garry began their career in 1992 as an Airframes Mechanic in the US Navy, where they gained experience in maintenance and repair of aircraft. Following their military service, they worked as a Master Mechanic at B.F. Goodrich Aerospace, specializing in heavy maintenance and flight control rigging on a variety of aircraft models.

Simmons then moved on to San Antonio Aerospace, where they worked as a Senior Mechanic, performing maintenance and structural repairs on DC-8, 747, A300, CRJ, and ERJ aircraft. Garry briefly acted as the line lead in the absence of the appointed lead. After that, they worked as a Line Mechanic at Mesa Airlines Inc, where they performed daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CRJ200, CRJ700, CRJ900, and Dehav Dash-8 aircraft.

Simmons then transitioned to the field of IT, working as an I.T. Technician Desktop Support at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Garry provided desktop support, troubleshooting, and software package deployment for faculty and staff, as well as classrooms on campus. Garry also served as a Professor Assistant and Student Tutor, assisting with lectures and activities for Microsoft Office Suite and providing one-on-one tutoring.

Simmons' most recent position was at Dedicated Computing, where they held multiple roles. Garry started as a Production Cell Member, demonstrating proficiency in assembly and process skills required for repetitive product manufacturing. Garry then advanced to the position of Quality Engineering Specialist, leading teams in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to improve manufacturing and customer experience. Lastly, Simmons held the role of Design Engineering Technician, where they worked with program managers to identify and document customer needs, developed acoustical, thermal, and power analysis and design, and launched customer or OEM products into a manufacturing environment.

Garry Simmons, CAPM, pursued their higher education from 2004 to 2007 at Milwaukee Area Technical College, where they acquired an AAS degree in Computer Information Security. Additionally, in June 2014, they obtained the CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute.
