Derek Bushman

Derek Bushman has worked in various roles since 2001. Derek began their career as the Owner/CEO of XPERT Computer Services in 2001. In 2007, they became a Technical Support Engineer at OPPO DIGITAL, INC., where they helped design and develop DVD & Blu-ray Players, Planar Magnetic Headphones, and Headphone Amplifiers. Derek also saved the company thousands of dollars through fraud prevention initiatives for online orders and reseller application reviews. In 2016, they became a Senior Product Manager at LeEco US, where they developed products for the LeSports ecosystem of products, including (4) Android-powered smart bicycles and led software and hardware testing initiatives for products including smart TVs, streaming boxes, smartphones, and soundbars. In 2019, they joined WhiteFox Defense Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Technical Support Engineer. In this role, they engineered a custom OpenWRT-based 4G/LTE cellular router solution for implementation worldwide into one of the company's flagship products, including writing various shell scripts for high availability and alerting. Derek also served as project manager and implementer for a complex antenna retrofit across eight sites for a high-profile, international government entity, and used Microsoft Power BI for data analytics report generation from worldwide drone data, including the use of complex formulas. Derek is currently a Systems Engineer at Dedrone, a position they have held since 2022.

Derek Bushman earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Business Administration and Management, General from San Jose State University between 2001 and 2005. Derek also holds several certifications, including CompTIA Cloud Essentials, CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, CompTIA Server+, a Platinum-Level Typing Certificate (99 wpm, 99.5% accuracy) from Ratatype, CompTIA A+ from 2002, CompTIA Network+, and a FAA Part 107 - Commercial UAS Operator.
