Rafael Turner

Rafael Turner's work experience includes:

1. Director of Machine Learning at Dedrone since June 2023.

2. Mathematician in Training (P.h.D) at George Mason University since January 2022.

3. Senior Software Engineer at Rebellion Defense from August 2019 to May 2023. In this role, they created and deployed machine learning models and systems for various applications such as digital signal processing, natural language processing, and computer vision. Rafael also led technical proposal writing, problem-solving in applied mathematics and machine learning, and worked directly with customers to ensure successful solutions.

6. Officer in the US Army from January 2015 to January 2019. In this role, they reverse engineered proprietary wireless protocols and led a team for overseeing and coordinating defensive cyberspace operations.

8. University of Chicago Data Science Fellow at the University of Chicago from June to August 2014. Rafael worked on developing predictive statistical models and automated analysis pipeline for a non-profit nurse home visiting company.

9. Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from September 2013 to January 2014. Rafael worked on improving high-performance C code for malware clustering and co-authored a research paper.

10. Security Researcher at Invincea, Inc. from February to September 2013. Rafael contributed to successful research in machine learning, visualization, and formal methods, and developed a Bayesian network model for inferring malware functionality.

Rafael Turner pursued their higher education at the University of Chicago from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications in Quantum Information Science. Rafael completed the course "8.370.3x: Quantum Information Science I, Part 3" in May 2018 and "Quantum Information Science I, Part 2" in April 2018 through the online platform edX.
