Richard Utter

Richard Utter has extensive experience in the field of information technology and has held various roles in different organizations. Richard is currently working as the Director of Information Technology at Dedrone since May 2023. Previously, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland University College starting in July 2017. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director of Information Technology and Information Security Officer at New Century Health from July 2020 to June 2023. Before that, they held the position of Director of Engineering at Proxios from August 2012 to July 2020. Richard also worked as a Sr. System Admin at Alstom Power from November 2006 to August 2012, as a Systems Administrator at Northgate Information Solutions from June 2002 to June 2006, as a Network Systems Admin at Rockwell Collins from January 2000 to December 2001, and as a Systems Administrator at Sony Electronics from January 1996 to January 2001.

Richard Utter holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), which they earned between 2000 and 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from UCI from 1998 to 2000. Richard'sundergraduate education was completed at UC Irvine as well, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from 1993 to 1998.

In addition to their academic degrees, Richard has obtained several certifications. Richard became a Certified Cloud Security Professional in November 2019, through the institution (ISC)². In February 2016, they achieved the Cisco Certified Network Professional-Data Center (CCNP-DC) certification from Cisco. Richard also obtained the VMware Certified Professional certification from VMware in January 2018.
