Dor Barda

Dor Barda is the current Director of Finance at Deel. Prior to this, Dor served as the Head of Finance for Growth Investments at the Israel Innovation Authority from May 2019 to February 2021. In this role, Dor was responsible for analyzing, identifying, and removing financial barriers and failures for Hi-Tech companies and startups using government-based investments, government incentives, government-backed funds, tax benefits, and legislation. Some of these initiatives included the 5 tax benefits ("The Angel's law") that were approved as part of Israel’s budget legislation, for encouraging angel investments, M&A's, and foreign lending, as well as the Debt backing program for banks and debt funds to establish the Hi-Tech debt market.

Throughout their time at the Israel Innovation Authority, Dor created and presented dozens of reports and strategic plans that cover market opportunities, financing, technology, trends, business models, M&A, IPOs, tax, etc. Dor also worked closely with Angels, VCs, PEs, institutional investors, Israeli and foreign banks, founders, startups, hi-tech companies', regulators, and the Ministry of finance. Furthermore, Dor played a significant role in assisting hi-tech companies during the COVID19 financial crisis by helping to structure and operate "Incentive program 43” which provides to Israeli institutional investors downside protection, to increase funding from Israeli institutional investors. Dor also adjusted the "large business loan fund", of the Ministry of Finance, for Israeli Hi-tech.

Dor Barda has a Master's degree in Economics from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Accounting from the same school.
