Amit Mital

Amit Mital served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director, National Security Council from 2021 to August 2022. He focused on strategy and policy for Cyber Security and Emerging Technologies, including Critical Infrastructure security, Telecom policy, Spectrum policy & 5G strategy, Quantum computing, and AI.

Previously, he was CEO and Founder of Kernel Labs, a startup studio that creates technology companies in AI, computer vision and Cyber Security.

His prior role was EVP/GM and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Symantec Corporation. In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Amit Mital was responsible for driving the company's technology strategy. Amit was also the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Emerging Endpoints Business that included Mobile and IoT.

Amit joined Symantec after 20 years with Microsoft, most recently as the Corporate Vice President for the Startup Business Group, where he was responsible for leading strategic product development along with identifying and executing new innovation opportunities. He holds 43 patents, and is an innovator in several technologies including machine learning and high-scale cloud services.

Amit holds an M.S. in Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
