Tejumade Afonja

Tejumade Afonja is a dedicated doctoral researcher at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security and Saarland University, focusing on privacy-preserving synthetic tabular data generation. They have an academic background in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to their work. As the co-founder of AI Saturdays Lagos, Tejumade is passionate about democratizing AI education across Africa, offering free training to over 1,000 participants. They also serve as a General Chair for the Deep Learning Indaba 2025, advocating for an AI future shaped by Africans. Tejumade's commitment extends to various initiatives, including the Data Science for Social Good Foundation and a fellowship role with the Heidelberg Laureate Forum.
