Derek Hand

Derek "Del" Hand is an experienced engineering professional with a diverse background in project and team management. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Deep Sea Electronics Ltd since October 2021, Derek oversees a team of nine engineers, focusing on project and resource management, team building, and improving engineering processes. Previously, Derek spent over thirteen years at Deep Sea Electronics in various roles, primarily as a Design Engineer, where hands-on design work for microcontrollers, analog electronics, and production support was a primary responsibility. Other notable positions include Project Leader at Britax PMG Ltd, where Derek managed an engineering team, and Project Manager and Design Engineer at CMP Batteries, along with multiple design roles at Artesyn Technologies and Erskine Systems. Derek holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Salford.
