Alfonso Rafel has worked in various roles in the automotive and technology sectors since 2016. In 2021, they began working as a Machine Learning Engineer at DeepAgro, where they are responsible for training, fine tuning, and testing image processing models, implementing image processing algorithms with OpenCV, Pytorch, and ScikitLearn, and automating and designing data handling and cleaning pipelines for large datasets of on-field collected high quality images. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at General Motors in various roles, including Vehicle Production Group Leader, Process Lead Assembly Plant, Global Manufacturing System Industrial Engineering & Maintenance Lead, and Manufacturing Analyst- TRACK Program. In 2018, they were an Intern as Software Developer in Research and Development at Volkswagen AG, and in 2017 they held a Research Scholarship at DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. Alfonso also worked as a Research Intern at Technische Universität Braunschweig in 2017, and as an Intern in Process Engineering at General Motors in 2016.

Alfonso Rafel has a diverse educational background. Alfonso began their studies in 2009, obtaining their First Certificate in English from the University of Cambridge. Alfonso then went on to study Electronic and Electric Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Rosario from 2011 to 2019. In 2016, they obtained their Goethe-Zertificat B1 from Goethe-Institut e.V. and their Programa de Formación de la Bolsa de Comercio from Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario. In 2017, they received two certifications from Cisco: CCNA Routing and Switching: Principios básicos de routing and switching and CCNA Switching and Routing: Introducción a Redes. In 2018, they obtained three certifications from Technische Universität Braunschweig: Basiskurs Deutsch B2.2, Bewerbungstraining- Schreiben und Sprechen für den Job B2/C1, and Elementare 1 Italiano A1.1. From 2017 to 2018, they studied Engineering at Technische Universität Braunschweig. In 2020, they obtained two certifications from deeplearning.ai: Neural Networks and Deep Learning and Structuring Machine Learning Projects. Alfonso also obtained a Machine Learning certification from Coursera. Currently, they are studying for an Artificial Intelligence Specialization at the University of Buenos Aires, which they expect to complete in 2022.
