Chau Luu

Chau Luu is a Senior Research Scientist at Deepgram since May 2023, having previously served as an Applied Scientist II at Amazon from August 2022 to February 2023, where contributions focused on improving end-to-end neural models for Automatic Speech Recognition within the Acoustic Modelling team. Chau's academic background includes a PhD in Language Processing, Speech Technology, and Information Retrieval from The University of Edinburgh, complemented by an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the same institution. In addition, teaching support roles at The University of Edinburgh involved assisting in postgraduate courses such as Machine Learning Practical and Reinforcement Learning. Chau also completed a Research Science Internship at Amazon, focusing on streaming speaker attribution for RNN-T based ASR systems. Prior educational achievements include a Master's Degree in Physics from Durham University.
