Greg Canal

Greg Canal is a Senior Research Scientist at Deepgram, specializing in the next generation of Voice AI with expertise in active learning, preference learning, information theory, and deep generative models. Previously, Greg held positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where foundational algorithms in machine learning and information theory were developed. Greg also completed internships and teaching assistant roles at LGS Innovations and Duke University, respectively. They earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021, following a Master's degree at the same institution and a Bachelor's degree from Duke University.
