Andrej Palička

Andrej Palička has extensive work experience in software engineering and machine learning. Andrej currently works at Deepnote as a Software Engineer. Prior to that, they were self-employed, offering consultations and programming services with a focus on machine learning and backend systems. Andrej also worked as a Software Engineer at Backbone Photo from 2020 to 2022. In addition, Andrej worked at Quantlane as an Analyst/Software Engineer, where they developed automated trading strategies using Python, SQL, Kubernetes, and Spark. Before that, they worked at MSD as a Software Developer, where they were involved in various machine learning and data science projects, including developing a data pipeline for medical and pharmaceutical papers and applying recurrent neural networks for identifying Biosynthetic Gene Clusters. Andrej started their career as a Machine Learning systems intern at ASU CAS.

Andrej Palička obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Czech Technical University in Prague, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. After completing their bachelor's degree, they pursued a Master's degree in Knowledge Engineering from the same university, studying from 2014 to 2016. Andrej also earned several additional certifications including the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in May 2018, the Professional Scrum Developer I from Scrum.org in January 2017, and the Database Design and Programming With SQL certification from Oracle in May 2013.
