Stavros Paschalakis

Stavros Paschalakis has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Stavros is currently the CTO at DeepSea Technologies since 2022. Before that, they were the Founder & Director of Visual Atoms Ltd, an independent technology R&D and consulting company, from 2011 onwards. At Visual Atoms, they developed advanced solutions in the digital vision domain and offered various business-to-business products and services.

Prior to their role at Visual Atoms, Stavros worked at Mitsubishi Electric R&D Centre Europe. Stavros held the position of R&D Manager / Multimedia Technologies Team Leader from 2008 to 2011, where they were responsible for image/video processing and coding projects, including project proposals, funding, planning, team management, and generating intellectual property. Before that, they were a Research Engineer / Senior Engineer at the same company from 2001 to 2008, focusing on research and optimization of algorithms for limited CPU platforms and ASICs.

Stavros' career began as a Research Associate at the University of Kent from 1997 to 1999.

Stavros Paschalakis has a strong educational background in electronic engineering and computer systems engineering. Stavros began their academic journey in 1993 at the University of Kent, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems Engineering in 1996. Stavros continued their studies at the same institution, completing a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from 1996 to 2001.
