Defend2026 is a pro-democracy organizing platform built to protect the integrity of American elections when no federal backstop can be relied upon. Founded amid a moment when the executive branch, Congress, and the Supreme Court have all moved against voting rights, Defend2026 exists to make sure that projected electoral outcomes become certified ones and that people can register, vote, have their ballots counted, and see results honored.

The organization operates on a simple premise: resistance has to be built from the ground up. Through a tiered national organizing structure, Defend 2026 trains and equips leaders at the state, county, and campus level to track threats to elections, document interference in real time, and mobilize local response where it matters most.

4 Pillars:

Protect — Safeguarding every vote from registration through certification.
Expose — Documenting and publicizing tactics used to undermine elections.
Organize — Building durable, grassroots organizing infrastructure.
Win — Converting projected victories into certified, defended outcomes.

Defend2026 is a project of the Youth Progressive Action Catalyst (YPAC), a registered Hybrid Federal PAC. While the platform launched in response to the specific dangers of the 2026 midterms, its core function of building the volunteer infrastructure, training, and rapid-response capacity to defend elections against bad-faith interference, is not tied to a single election cycle. Election deniers, disinformation campaigns, and administrative sabotage are recurring threats, not one-time events.

The organizing model Defend2026 has built (local leaders trained to protect, document, and respond) is designed to be reactivated and scaled for every election going forward, making the platform a lasting piece of democracy-protection infrastructure rather than a single-cycle campaign.
