A Different Kind of Publisher:
Defiance Press is not a single-lane publisher, and it is not a publisher that hands you a contract and disappears.
Through seven specialized imprints, Defiance serves authors across the full spectrum of storytelling: Heritage Legacy (historical), Bluebonnet (children's), YellowRose (romance), Nicholson (drama), Iron Phoenix (fantasy), Stellar Frontier (sci-fi), and Crimson Key (mystery, thriller, crime, and intrigue). Every author lands in a home built for their genre, with cover design, positioning, and marketing guidance shaped by the readers who actually buy those books.
Publishing Director Lisa Woodward sold over 100,000 copies of her own books before stepping into leadership, and has since helped authors across genres become Amazon Bestsellers. That experience drives everything at Defiance. Authors work directly with a dedicated team, receive honest marketing education, and are supported well past launch day.
The Defiance philosophy is straightforward: readers don't buy a book because it was written. They buy it because they believe it will do something for them. Defiance teaches authors to make that case, build real audiences, and think like publishing professionals, not just writers.
If you have written something worth reading and want a publisher who takes its success as seriously as you do, let's talk.
