In the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) an AED greatly increases a persons chances of survival, from around 8% with CPR alone, to upto 75% if an AED is used promptly. It is for this reason that there is a massive push to have these easy to use, relatively affordable machines in as many workplaces and public spaces as possible, and with over 30000 cases of SCA every year in the UK you can see why this is important.
