Alan Dell has extensive experience in policy advisory roles within the UK government, particularly at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Marine and Fisheries Agency. From August 2015 to August 2016, Alan served as a Senior Executive Officer, representing the UK in EU negotiations on the Waste Framework Directive and developing stakeholder engagement strategies. Previous positions included leading the UK Government’s response on air quality, negotiating animal welfare policies, and influencing fisheries policy within the EU. Currently, as a Senior Policy Advisor at Defra, Alan focuses on domestic fisheries policies, specifically addressing discards and landing obligations.
