Alex Rattee

Alex Rattee has significant experience in UK government roles, starting with the Civil Service Fast Stream from September 2017 to November 2019 as a Generalist Fast Streamer, where rotations covered four Government Departments. Alex served as General Election Campaign Manager for the Liberal Democrats in May 2017, managing a successful election campaign. Subsequent positions include Team Lead roles at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in September 2023, and serving at the Department for International Trade as the UK-Japan Lead Tariff Negotiator from November 2019 to February 2021. In this role, Alex led tariff negotiations that resulted in the elimination of tariffs for 99% of UK goods exports to Japan. Experience also includes advising on Brexit preparations in the Department for Exiting the European Union and Labor Market Policy Advisor at the Department for Work and Pensions. Alex holds a degree from the University of Oxford, completed in 2017.
