Andrew Millar

Andrew Millar is an accomplished professional in the field of biological sciences and policy, with extensive experience in academia and advisory roles. Serving as a Science Policy Expert Advisory Committee (SPEAC) member at The Royal Society from January 2019 to April 2024, Andrew provided guidance on scientific policy and engaged with government entities. As a professor at the University of Edinburgh since November 2004, Andrew specializes in systems biology, focusing on research data management and policy. Formerly, Andrew held various positions including Chief Scientific Adviser for Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture with the Scottish Government, Non Executive Director at The James Hutton Institute, and Council Member for BBSRC, where significant contributions included chairing critical reviews and committees.
