Clara Wade

Clara Wade is the Head of Bioeconomy at Defra, UK Government, where they lead the UK's approach to the bioeconomy. Clara's career includes roles such as Policy Advisor at The Royal Society and Senior Scientific Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. They have a strong background in biological sciences, holding a First Class MBiol from the University of Oxford. Previously, Clara has also worked as a Science System Lead at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and as a Tax Consultant at Deloitte.
