Colm Jordan

Assistant Director

Colm Jordan is an experienced professional with a background in geodesy, earth observation, and geological risk management. Currently serving as an Assistant Director at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since May 2021, Colm has a long association with the British Geological Survey, where roles have included Honorary Research Associate and Head of various departments focused on geodesy and planetary observation since January 1999. Colm has chaired the Advisory Board at the East Midlands Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications from April 2017 to May 2021 and served as Chairman of the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society from September 2013 to September 2016. Prior experience includes working as a geologist at the Geological Survey of Ireland from 1993 to 1999. Educational credentials include a PhD from the University of London and a BA from University College Dublin, with ongoing studies towards an MSc at the University of Aberdeen.
