Deputy Director

David Jones is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public sector management and data strategy. Currently serving as Deputy Director at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since June 2022, David leads initiatives on Natural Capital Ecosystem Assessment and the Data Analytics and Science Hub. Previous roles include Head of Recovery & Operational Performance at HM Courts & Tribunals Service, where a response to the Barrister's Disruptive Action was managed, and Head of Data Strategy, Governance and Legislative Delivery at the Cabinet Office, where David developed critical data strategies post-Brexit. Additional experience spans senior roles in the UK Ministry of Defence, focusing on management information and data governance, including significant contributions to helicopter operations strategy and defence statistics. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London, an MBA from the University of Birmingham, and an MSc in Statistics from the University of Kent.
