David Topping

David Topping is a distinguished academic and technology leader with extensive expertise in atmospheric science, numerical modeling, and data analytics. Currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Urban 360, David has been instrumental in enhancing environmental monitoring through advanced technologies. At the University of Manchester, David has held significant positions, including Professor of the Digital Environment, Reader, and Post Doctoral Research Associate, and has contributed to impactful research on atmospheric aerosol effects. With a PhD in Physical Chemistry and a BSc in Physics from the University of Manchester, David is also a fellow of the Alan Turing National Institute of AI, co-managing the largest special interest group focused on Environment and Sustainability. Additional roles include being an Adjunct Professor at Zhejiang University and a Board Member for the Air Quality Expert Group at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
