International Marine Partnerships Lead

Jess Dark is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international marine partnerships and environmental policy. Since November 2017, Jess has been the International Marine Partnerships Lead at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, focusing on engaging in policy development to support global initiatives such as the Global Ocean Alliance and the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People. Previous roles include serving as a Senior Policy Advisor, where Jess led various international ocean and climate change negotiations, and as a Policy Advisor, leading the UK delegation on impact assessments related to the new UN Treaty for biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction. Educational credentials include a Master of Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Southampton. Jess also gained early experience as an intern at Connell Consulting.
