Kat Chirnside

Kat Chirnside currently serves as the Lead Content Designer for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since March 2024. Previously, Kat worked as Social and Digital Content Manager at Sheffield Hallam University, leading a team in user-centered design, and as Digital Engagement Manager for Social Work England, overseeing multiple digital services and campaigns. Kat's experience includes a role as Digital Communications Officer at the Department for Education, focusing on social media and content related to UK education policy, and as Marketing Officer at Sheffield Hallam University, developing student engagement campaigns. Kat began a career in marketing as a Marketing Coordinator at Sheffield Doc/Fest and has worked as a PR and Digital Consultant, in addition to earlier positions in e-commerce and public relations. Educational qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and Media from Sheffield Hallam University and A Levels from York College.
