Kris Carr

Kris Carr is an experienced professional currently serving as the Head of Flood and Water Emergencies at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since September 2019. In this role, Kris Carr leads efforts to enhance the security and resilience of the water sector and has been involved in responding to Covid-19 and preparing for the EU exit. Prior to this position, Kris Carr worked at the Cabinet Office from May 2017 to September 2019, leading the design and coordination of major UK events, including CHOGM 2018 and the Royal Wedding 2018. Experience also includes strategic project work at the Department for Education and management consulting at PA Consulting Group. Kris Carr has a notable background in emergency planning and operational response from previous roles at the Cabinet Office and the Government Olympic Executive, where responsibilities included crisis management and integrated decision-making for the 2012 Olympic Games. Earlier experience includes managing food incidents at the Food Standards Agency and protocol development at the UK Ministry of Defence. Education includes a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from The Open University.
