Lucy McMahon has extensive experience in various roles within government and policy sectors. Currently serving as the Biodiversity Targets Team Leader and Trade Negotiations Team Leader at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since September 2018, Lucy has also held positions as Policy Lead for COVID-19 Food Affordability and Private Secretary to the Director General. Prior to this, Lucy worked with the Civil Service Fast Stream and gained additional experience as a Digital Services Delivery Manager at the Judicial Office and as a Researcher and Project Manager at Policy Connect. Other relevant roles include serving as a Policy Officer for Mental Health with the Welsh Government and in the Department for Education. Lucy’s career began as an English Language Teaching Assistant at the British Council, complemented by a strong academic background with a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge.
