Lucy Petley is an experienced professional with a strong background in sustainable planning policy and public administration. Currently, Lucy serves as the Head of Sustainable Planning Policy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since October 2018, where Lucy has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Head of Land Use and Joint Head of multiple environmental policy teams. Prior experience includes roles at the Department for Work and Pensions as a Work Coach Team Leader and at the Royal Air Force as part of the RAF100 Programme Team. Lucy has a foundational career within the Civil Service Fast Stream, where responsibilities encompassed recruitment technology and policy advising. A Bachelor's Degree in English with Creative Writing was obtained from The University of Nottingham, complemented by secondary education at The Tiffin Girls' School.
