Michael Archer

Michael Archer is an experienced economic adviser currently employed at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since March 2021. Prior to this role, Michael served as the Business and Administration Manager at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute from May 2019 to March 2021, providing business support in the Sustainable Agri-Food Sciences Division. Michael's extensive experience at the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board includes roles such as Head of Operational Support, Head of Market Specialists, and Acting Market Intelligence Director, focusing on operational management and economic analysis. Earlier in the career, Michael worked as a Regulatory and Energy Economist Manager at Ofgem and as an Economist at the Home Grown Cereals Authority. Michael holds an MA in Economic Analysis and a BSc in Economics, both from the University of Nottingham.
