Peter Binfield-Smith

Peter Binfield-Smith is an experienced professional with a strong background in education and policy advisory roles. Peter served as a Teacher of Science at St. Aidan’s C of E High School and later at Lady Lumley’s School. Additionally, Peter managed the STEM Ambassador Hub for York and North Yorkshire under the Science Museum Group, facilitating connections between industry professionals and students. Peter's policy advisory expertise includes positions at the UK Health Security Agency and the Department for Transport, focusing on National Rail Infrastructure and Northern Powerhouse Rail projects. Currently, Peter is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Policy Acceleration Unit at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and serves as Co-Chair of the Civil Service Climate + Environment Network. Peter holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, a Master's degree in Public Administration and Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, all from the University of York.
