Peter Jinks

Peter Jinks is currently the Deputy Director for SPS & Imports Policy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), where they lead a diverse team focused on imports and EU trade of animals and animal products. They have extensive experience in senior civil service roles across various departments, including the Cabinet Office, where they served as Deputy Director for Civil Service Workforce Reform and Principal Private Secretary to the Minister for the Cabinet Office. Peter holds an MMath in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham, which they completed in 2003.
