Phil Raymond

Phil Raymond is an experienced professional specializing in international biodiversity, climate science, and environmental policy. Currently serving as the UK IPBES Focal Point and Evidence Team Leader at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since April 2022, Phil has previously held significant roles such as UNFCCC Science Negotiator at the Cabinet Office and Senior Climate Science Adviser at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where contributions included leading scientific negotiations for the UK at COP26 and representing the country at IPCC sessions. With a strong academic background in Chemical Biology from Imperial College London, including a PhD, Phil has demonstrated expertise in coordinating climate strategies, engaging with international stakeholders, and delivering impactful scientific communications throughout a distinguished career in both governmental and academic settings.
