River MacIlraith

River Macilraith is an experienced policy advisor and engagement lead currently serving at the Civil Service Vegan Network since December 2023 and at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) since May 2022 as a Senior Policy Advisor specializing in plastic pollution, biodiversity, and the circular economy. River also holds an Executive Committee position with the A:Gender network, elected in March 2023, and previously worked as a CCUS Economic Analyst at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Additional experience includes roles in communications and editorial leadership at the Oxford Forum for International Development and The Oxford Student. River received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Oxford and is pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Public Policy at King's College London.
