Simon Dixon serves as the Head of Food Chain Analysis at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since February 2023. Previously, Simon held multiple roles at the Marine Management Organisation from May 2015 to February 2023, including Interim Director of Digital and Analysis and Chief Statistician. Simon contributed to the Effort Management team, focusing on Cod and Sole recovery schemes. Prior to this, Simon was a Post Doctoral Research Assistant at Durham University from September 2008 to April 2015, where responsibilities included analyzing GHG fluxes and fluvial carbon dynamics. Simon earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Geoscience (Environmental) and a Master in Science in Geoscience (Environmental) from Durham University.
