Simon Potts is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in biodiversity and ecosystem services. Currently serving as Director at the Centre for Agri-Environmental Research and Professor of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services at the University of Reading since May 2011, Simon Potts has also held leadership roles in multiple significant initiatives, including Chair of the Science and Technology for Pollinating Insects expert group under the European Commission and Co-Chair of the Thematic Assessment of Pollinators for the United Nations. Additional contributions include advisory roles with Defra on various pollinator-related groups. Simon Potts's prior experience includes positions as Principal Research Fellow at the University of Reading and Research Fellow at both the University of St Andrews and CIFOR. Academic foundations were laid with a PhD at the University of St Andrews following education at Leeds Grammar School.
