Thomas Gardner

Thomas Gardner has a diverse work experience in various government departments and councils. In 2007, they worked as a Planning Technician at Coventry City Council, where they had responsibilities such as drafting papers and reports for the Council Cabinet. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Planner at Ealing Council, leading sustainable development efforts and managing regulatory commitments. Thomas was seconded to the Mayor of London as a lead Project Manager during this time. In 2012, they joined the Department for Transport as a Policy Adviser, focusing on Channel Tunnel and light rail security. Thomas then moved to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2016, serving as the Deputy Head of Europe Bilateral Strategy until 2018. Currently, they are working at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as the Head of Trade Strategy. Thomas previously held positions as the Lead Negotiator and Team Leader for Global Trade Negotiations.

Thomas Gardner has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Durham University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. From 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Spatial Planning at Oxford Brookes University. In 2012, Thomas completed a program in APMP Project Management at UCL. Currently, they are studying Recognition of Firearms and Explosives at Cranfield University.
