Tom George currently serves as the Head of Food Systems Policy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where leadership is provided to the policy team developing the Government's new food strategy. Previously, Tom held several key roles, including Director at Cellular Agriculture UK and First Secretary for Global Issues at the British Embassy in Mexico City, where leadership was provided to teams addressing economic, financial, and climate policy. Tom's earlier experience includes leadership positions in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including coordinating UK policy on Libya and managing energy security issues in India, along with roles in strategic consulting in the metals and mining sectors. Tom's academic background includes a Master’s Degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Sussex, a Graduate Diploma in Economics from the University of London, and a BSc in Physics from the University of Bristol.
