Will Armitage

Will Armitage is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public service, particularly within the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Serving as Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance since May 2012, Will has successfully led spending review negotiations and established an independent trade function post-EU exit, considerably expanding its staff and fostering an inclusive culture. Previous roles include managing market access negotiations, overseeing significant policy changes during workforce reductions, and implementing strategies post-2015 general election. Earlier experience at HM Treasury involved negotiating spending and policy matters relevant to Defra. Will's educational background includes a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Cambridge.
