Mike Spain has over 17 years of professional experience in the defense and telecommunications industries. Mike began their career in 2002 as a Test Engineer at Jacobs Sverdrup, where they developed and tested major weapon systems, including the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). In 2005, they joined SAIC as a Senior Engineer/Lead Analyst and developed and tested major weapon systems such as the Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) and Comprehensive Force Protection Initiative (CFPI) system of systems. That same year, they also became an Engineering Assistant at Verizon Communications, providing design engineering expertise to maintain communication services. In 2008, they joined CSC as a Verification and Assessment Team Deputy Lead and Assessment Team Lead. In 2011, they moved to SDI Government Solutions as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they served as an Integrated Product Team Liaison Officer (IPT LNO). Mike then joined DEFTEC Corporation in 2014 as a Program Manager and Program Manager/Test and Evaluation Team Lead, where they tested and evaluated Counter-Improvised Explosive Devises (C-IED) initiatives.
Mike Spain attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 1998 to 2001, where they received a BS in Engineering. Mike then attended Troy University from 1979 to 1981, where they received an MSM in Management (Operations Research). Lastly, they attended The Catholic University of America from 1964 to 1971, where they received a BA in Political Science.
